On the Home Stretch

We have been unable to update the blog due to how busy we have been. Sorry :( (1 Corinthians 15:58) We are coming to the end of our incredible journey we have had here in Dominica. Of course we are sad for leaving because of the many brothers and sisters that have become our close friends and spiritual companions, at the same time we are happy to be able to see our friends and family back home in New England.  Around the world we are all sharing in our worship of Jehovah whether it comes though our experiences in the ministry, up building association, or weekly congregation meetings we are all strengthening our relationship with Jehovah! We just got to go to Dominica :P  (smiley face with tongue sticking out) We are leaving Dominica January 13th, staying in St. Lucia for a day and will be home and at our first meeting January 16th, a Sunday.*  Plan to see us then. :) Until then enjoy this blog of our brothers and sisters, hikes and AWESOMENESS!

Here are some pictures of our hike to the Boiling Lake! It is a 15 mile 2-3 hour hike one way to the Boiling Lake. In order to get there you have to cross a couple of rivers and pass through the Valley of Desolation! It is a constant up and down battle, maybe 1 or 2 flat areas. It is truly amazing to see the wonderful creation of Jehovah! (Revelation 4:11)

GRRRRRRRRRRR!

Natural Hot Tub!! This is around 100 degrees :)

The great Valley of Desolation

Sulfur, you would usually pay $70 - $80 for this for your face

In the distance is the Boiling Lake, up close is the Valley of Desolation

Down and then back up over the hill and you hit the Boiling Lake!

The Boiling Lake! 197 degrees on edges, over 350 degrees in the middle and the depth is 200ft

Now with seeing this blog has it made you think that this is something you could or want to do? Well... JUMP! Make it happen. There is nothing to loose, only tons to gain. We want to say Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to those who have helped make this trip possible, you all know who you are. :)

Simplicity and Blessings

Just the thought of serving Jehovah brings a smile to many faces. Struggles may come for each one of us but in the end we all have that one thing in common that unites us and keeps us going; our service to Jehovah! We all find Jesus' words true at Matthew 5:3, "Happy are those concious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them." Sharing in this great, never to be repeated work is the most enjoyable way we can grow in our love for Jehovah! Many blessings come along with it... no matter where you are in the world, the ministry refreshes and builds up! We both left our comfort zone when leaving home trusting in Jehovah and it feels great! To all of our friends and family, we love you very much and still can not describe the amount of joy and happiness we are experiencing while serving Jehovah!

Hills Hills and more Mountains! No need to work out when you can just go out in service!

So this may seem like a picture that doesnt need to be taken, but it shows how much of an incline there is and we wanted to make that point Very Clear! No camera trickery here, I'm actually leaning back! ( ^_^ )

In these pictures you will realize just how simple living is here. This just reflects on us how much stuff we own that is just not needed. Whereas here they have the essentials and that is really all thats needed. It shows us the importance of keeping spiritual things the focus of our lives and how Jehovah will provide the rest.

4 bath, 3 bedroom house with roadside view.
Dont miss any trail! You always have to look for those little trails that lead off to houses.

Simple Enough?.......

This is the closest thing we could find to a mobile home.

On the way back from Hosea farm, he stops the truck and helps this blind man to his home. This kind of love is shown throughout the island with the brothers and sisters (even though this may seem like a tiny thing) Incredible!

2 Experiences
Anthony: This reminds me of one of my favorite Studies.
On the first Visit, The Girl said she was busy washing clothes, so I asked: "Can we Help?" Hesitating for a second with a chuckle she said: "Sure!" After hanging up the clothes she was washing (even though it may have involved touching some clothes i would never touch in any other setting!) we had a very nice discussion. Now her, her mother and father are listening in when we study in the Bible Teach  Book (BH).

S.Diego: In Wesley the first door I came to I started my presentation and immediatly the man cut me off and said, "Come in I have a lot of questions." So after about 45 minutes of answering the big questions
he had I was going to move to the next house. So I told him that I would come back next week and we could start the bible study but he immediatly responded and said, "No, we need to start now!" I could't refuse that! So i stayed another hour and went over 2 chapters of the Bible Teach book with him! He definitely wants his questions answered!

Here are some of the blessings! The friends provide us with plenty of local foods! Avocado, Cocoy, Ginger, Banana and Plantain, Mini sweet bananas, Pumkin Pie (the pumkin was provided)! Orange and Sour Sop!

Now the Bananas are in twos!?

 This is in Marigot

FYI there are 6 kids living in that house.

They like listening in during the study!

She called herself a model :)

Would you be content living here?

One of I think 5 times I actually knocked at a door, instead of calling out. :)
