Although we have not been able to post a new blog for quite some time... we have an accuse. :) We have been busy out in the field ministry building up our call book! We have been able to enjoy many long and exciting days out in service with our brothers and sisters here in the Marigot congregation! (Dont worry the new posts' will have more experiences) We have enjoyed the priveledge of having a little more responsibility at the hall and we both have given talks and are reading the Watchtower on Sunday's, and the "Come be my Follower" book at the book study! We expected this trip to be amazing... but that is an understatment! We are having the time of our life serving Jehovah God together as spiritual brothers and we cant wait to exchange and swap upbuilding experiences with you out in service when we reach home! Until then may Jehovah's blessings be upon all of our brothers and sisters back in the Portsmouth/Kittery Halls and all of the many friends, we love you all! O and down at the bottom of this post their is a schedule of what our daily routine looks like!

Meeting for field service in Wesley
|
Timeline of what an average Thursday looks like -
(Thursdays are the long day for us)
- Wake up between 5am - 6am, Get prepared for the day, Eat something
- Be out the door at 7am for Service, Start walking to Wesley from Marigot (Look it up on Google Maps if you wanna see how far! (we could get a ride if we wanted from a bus or if Sister LoBlack is going)) Walking is about 4 Miles = 90 Minutes
- Service till 12ish, Then we usually get a ride home.
- Lunch at home and Relaxing (the whole day is 82 degrees or feels like 91or more with the sun, what would you do if you were hot?)
- 4pm Walk to a study (Radcliff) about 20 min Straight up hill, did we mention straight uphill!?
- Leave study around 6pm usually with some good local food! (Eggs, Bananas, Passion Fruit, etc.)
- Get home, Party! :) , Eat Dinner! :)
It is a little different schedule then what we are used to.
Remember Everyone, If you have Skype. We can talk almost anytime we are home! with Video! We love you all and hope to talk to you soon! . . . . . .
Guys, the pic's of the hall are great! Tell us how many are in the hall? The pubs', pioneers and servant body once again.
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice to see the friends and the smiles they have on their faces. I do not want to speak for everyone, but I am pretty sure they would all agree to make sure that you send our love to the congregation and to the efforts they put into the service there on Dominica! All our love and we look forward to more great news from abroad!
There are 50 Publishers, 2 elders and one servant when we arrived. So add us to the bunch and that is the totals!
ReplyDeleteWorking on the talks really keeps us on our toes, being used alot is sooo nice, We can really hone our skills (If we had any :P) Thanks for asking!
I hope, I hope, I hope this worked! I keep trying to post and running into dead ends. Thanks for the pics of the Kingdom Hall. It's nice to see where you go and it's really nice to see pictures of both of you so we know how you are REALLY doing! You know that your mothers will always be able to tell from the pictures. No Pioneers in your congregation? Wow... so do you work mostly alone?
ReplyDeleteMissing you still..... Cindy and Ron
We are the only pioneers in the hall, but know that there is GREAT support on the days for field service!
ReplyDeleteWe usually work 1 day alone out in the minisrty and we work close to where we live in Marigot and just pick where we want and start preaching!
I am sure our mothers can REALLY see how HAPPY we are!
Yes, your pictures tell all! But so does the tone of your blog comments... not only can your Biological Mom's tell, but all your other Moms can tell too!!! So don't forget to dress properly for the rain... such a Mom thing to say.
ReplyDeleteThat's great! I love the video too! I wish i was there with you. I miss you so much S.

ReplyDeleteIt is good to feel you guys are taking care of yourselves and responsible. Glad you are eating good healthy food. I know the Brothers and Sisters there will also show you the way to eat good food on the island. It is their way of life.
Glad they are keeping you busy doing talks, that will make you more experienced with the Truth and help you when you come back to do talks on the spur of the minute. :-)
Glad you found a place to do ping pong. Got to have fun too! Atill fishing? I kno you can only eat sooo many fish, right? LOL
We all miss you and think of you often, I know I am a Mother but I have Brothers and Sisters all the time ask. They send their Love too.
I just wanted to express our appreciation as well for your fine example and hard work! You both are making such a wonderful sacrifice to Jehovah, and I am sure it is very encouraging to the local brothers, building them up as well (iron sharpens iron!).
ReplyDeleteHow long will you be staying in Dominica? Of course, we are all jealous of this fine privilege and opportunity you are taking advantage of. Never close a door Jehovah opens for you, especially when you are still young enough and without the burdens Satan piles up on us as we age!
We love you both, and pray continually for your well being. Looking forward to hearing more of your experiences both in and out of service!

Those werent rocks were they? Shaped funny. tell me wat those were when u csn. love u guys. b safe b wild have fun :)-heather
ReplyDeleteWe are scheduled to be coming back Jan. 16th. We will be at the Sunday meeting that day! (all in all, about a 4 1/2 month trip) :)
ReplyDeleteWe were standing on the place where they put giant Jacks (the childs game). Thats what they look like! But really it is a pier for the boat harbor, so the big waves (during hurricane) dont destroy the boats. So in a way they are rocks but crushed and really small.
OR to be more defined:
Cement is mostly lime , pulverized limestone and clay.
Once you mix it with sand and water it becomes mortar.
Once you mix it with sand and stone or other agregates and water it becomes concreate.
LOL
Hopefully that answers the questions! Keep'em comming ;)
And Heather (from S) Give Anthony and I a call on skype so i can tell about Mrs. Shephard. It will be easier that way and i can give you more information. Thanx :)
We know that you two are OK after the hurricane and that all the friends there on the Island are doing OK, but send our love to them and let them know we are thinking of them. And when you hear about St. Lucia let us know as well seeing how they really got hit hard. We want to make sure all are OK!
ReplyDeleteThanks~
Just to let you know Gaylen & I are on board now with your blog ! We heard about your trip and are very excited. The pix remind us of being in St. Kitts doing disaster relief work in '98. Todd and Linda were there then, and were really the hosts of the groups sent. I am so glad they got called away and you can be at their place. Was "Pretty Girl" their dog?
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work. You obviously have Jehovah's blessing. His hand is never short, eh?
